One of the most typical and outstanding food from the Bulgarian cuisine is Banitsa.
Banitsa is a very tasty pie filled with white cheese (sirene).
Ina, one of our mentors, taught us how to make a home-made Banitsa. We thank her a lot because it is definetly something that we will take back home, remembering the taste of Bulgarian food.
We enclose the recipe with its respective photo, in order to exemplify all the steps. In this photo, we have ingredients for two banitsas, thus everything is doubled.
To make a good home-made Banitsa, we need:
- 5 eggs
- 1 package of crust
- 1 pack sour milk – 400gr.
- 400gr. white cheese (sirene)
- 65gr. butter
- 1 tea spoonful of baking soda
Now lets get started.
Making Banitsa was a very nice experience, we had a lot of fun and it was very tasty.
